Tarcísio Freitas

Born in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), holds a degree in civil engineering from the Military Engineering Institute (IME), postgraduate degrees in Project Management from the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV) and Supply Chain and Logistics Management from the Army Officers Improvement School, as well as a bachelor's degree in Military Sciences from the Agulhas Negras Military Academy. He is 43 years old.

A career civil servant providing legislative advice of the Chamber of Deputies, Freitas has served as Project Coordination Secretary at the Special Secretariat of the Investment Partnerships Program (PPI); CEO and Director-General of the National Department of Transport Infrastructure (Dnit); and as head of the technical section of the Brazilian Engineer Corps during the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Haiti between 2005 and 2006. He also served as auditor of the Federal Comptroller's Office (CGU).

Minister Freitas will have as a priority to unleash projects that can improve the logistics of the country, remove bureaucratic obstacles and reduce requirements for private sector participation in new ventures.
