President Jair Bolsonaro said on Thursday (3 January) that Brazil will quickly raise about R$ 7 billion through concession projects for 12 airports and four port terminals, in addition to a railroad. The projects are part of the Investment Partnerships Program (PPI), and will be prioritized at the beginning of the new administration.
"With investor confidence under favorable conditions for the population, we will recover the initial development of Brazil's infrastructure," Bolsonaro said in his official Twitter account.
Concessions
The projects mentioned by the president include concession calls for airports in the Northeast, Southeast and Midwest regions (total planned investments of R$ 3.5 billion); the concession of the section of the North-South Railway that connects the municipalities of Estrela D'Oeste (SP) and Porto Nacional (TO) (total estimated investments of R$ 2.8 billion); and four port terminals - three of them in the Port of Cabedelo (PB) and one in the Port of Vitória (ES) -, with a projected R$ 199 million in investments.
