Chinese President congratulates Bolsonaro for his inauguration

Chinese President Xi Jinping congratulated President Jair Bolsonaro for his inauguration on Tuesday (January 1st). In a letter, the Chinese leader said the two countries should improve their economies, preserve world peace and promote common development.
Xi Jinping further stated that China is willing to "respect the fundamental interests" of nations and deepen relations with Brazil.
On Wednesday (2), Bolsonaro met with Ji Bingxuan, Vice Chairman of the 12th Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China.
On the occasion, they discussed the expansion of bilateral trade and cooperation in science, technology, agriculture, as well as agreements in the business and industrial segments. Mr. Bingxuan also stressed the importance of the two countries jointly playing leading roles towards world peace.
The Brazilian president assured his intention to expand bilateral relations with China and reaffirmed the importance of Sino-Brazilian relations. Bolsonaro also mentioned the importance of diversifying the trade agenda and expanding areas of cooperation between the two countries.
