The surgery to remove the colostomy bag and reconstruct the intestines of President Jair Bolsonaro was successfully completed on Monday (January 28). “President Jair Bolsonaro's health condition is stable and he will return to the post as of Wednesday”, said General Rêgo Barros, spokesman of the Presidency, in a statement to the press.
According to the Albert Einstein Hospital, Bolsonaro faced no health complications throughout this Tuesday (29). He performed respiratory and motor physiotherapy with good results.
"Tomorrow (30), at 7 AM, the president re-assumes the Presidency of the Republic. Despite some restrictions, he will already be in good condition. We will try to prevent dispatches from occurring with the usual frequency, which may tire him,” the spokesman said.
Presidency-in-Office
Bolsonaro was the victim of an attack during the presidential campaign in September last year in the city of Juiz de Fora (MG). Last Monday (28), he underwent surgery for removal of the colostomy bag implanted at the time. Vice President Hamilton Mourão held the presidency on an interim basis during the period.
