Positive result drove 1.76% rise on Ibovespa benchmark index

Ivan de Souza Monteiro is the new CEO of the company
Petrobras' preferred shares rose 8.48% on Monday (4 June) on the São Paulo Stock Exchange. The Ibovespa, Brazil's benchmark stock market index, ended the day at a 1.76% high, strongly driven by the appreciation of the oil company's stock.
Last week, engineer Ivan de Souza Monteiro was appointed new acting president of Petrobras. Monteiro previously served as the company’s Director of Finance and Investor Relation. President Michel Temer has already confirmed that he will be appointed permanent CEO of Petrobras.
