Government projects R$ 3.2 billion in revenue with pre-salt auction

Four areas will be offered in the Campos and Santos basins

The Brazilian government expects to raise at least R$ 3.2 billion with the fourth auction round of pre-salt blocks, according to an estimate by the National Energy Policy Council (CNPE). Scheduled for Thursday (7 June), the auction will offer four areas in the Campos and Santos basins.

Petrobras exercised its pre-emptive rights for three areas in the auction: Dois Irmãos, Três Marias and Uirapuru. Although the state-owned company is no longer required to participate in all bids, it is still granted the automatic right to participate in a bidding consortium for blocks in which it is interested.
