Brazil-Chile trade and economic relations have received a boost with the signing of two cooperation agreements between the two nations. The official signing ceremony, held on Friday (27 April) at the Presidential Palace, was attended by Presidents Michel Temer of Brazil and Sebastián Piñera of Chile.

The first act is a Brazil-Chile public procurement agreement, in which the Heads of State recognise the importance of regional economic integration through free trade and the promotion of sustainable development between the countries. The agreement defines a common standard for bilateral trade as a way to promote economic growth and increase competitiveness among Brazilian and Chilean companies.

The second document signed establishes a protocol for investments in financial institutions to stimulate reciprocal investments between the two countries, aiming to foster social and economic development through transactions beneficial to both parties.
