Carnival is coming! Meet the most popular destinations for the 2018 holidays
Carnival is one of the most important holidays for tourism in Brazil. According to the Ministry of Tourism (Mtur), this year the party should break an attendance record, with 400 thousand foreign tourists expected to join the 10.6 million Brazilians who will be traveling in the period. This is expected to bring 11.14 billion reais into the country's economy. The Brazilian Hotel Industry Association (ABIH) believes that next weekend's celebrations will cause occupancy rates to rise up to 95% in several states.

Rio de Janeiro

In 2017, the City of Rio de Janeiro authorised 577 parades through the city's streets, a number increased to at least 600 in 2018, according to official information.
Salvador
There are seven official circuits in the capital of axé: Dodô (Barra/Ondina), Osmar (Campo Grande), Batatinha (Historic Centre), Riachão (Garcia/Campo Grande), Sérgio Bezerra (Barra), Orlando Tapajós (Ondina/Barra) and Mestre Bimba (Nordeste de Amaralina).
Pernambuco

Recife offers more than two thousand presentations throughout 63 Carnival Centres. Four of them are for children.
Belo Horizonte

The party schedule for the capital of Minas Gerais spans nine venues, with more than 100 hours of music nonstop. Two of the stages will feature shows for children.
Sao Paulo

In addition to the traditional samba school parade, Pirituba will have a fixed stage for street carnival activities on February 10 and 11. The Anhangabaú Valley will host several daily attractions on the main stage.
