Temer highlights results of Brazilian social policies

After his speech at the opening session of the World Economic Forum on Wednesday (24 January), President Michel Temer left a message of optimism to Brazilians. In a Q&A session with the Forum's president, Klaus Schwab, Temer pointed out that the main social achievements of the Brazilian government "have yielded concrete results".

As examples, Temer mentioned the efforts to create jobs in Brazil, the increase in the real value of benefits paid under the Bolsa Família conditional cash transfer programme, the creation of the Progredir programme, which helps its beneficiaries enter the job market, and the changes in the Student Financing Fund (Fies).
