In a video recorded for social networks, president celebrated the GDP results for Q3

In a statement published on social networks, President Michel Temer stressed that the reforms implemented by the Brazilian government have been critical for the transformations the country has undergone in the last few months: GDP growth, job creation, and falling inflation and interest rates can all be attributed to recent government action.

This Friday (1 December), the IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) released Brazil’s Q3 GDP numbers: growth stood at 1.4% year-over-year and 0.1% compared to the previous quarter.

In the video, Temer explained that the growth of investments, which were 1.6% higher than the previous quarter, is the first positive number in more than three years. He also argued that this is important because when entrepreneurs invest, the economy heats up and more jobs are created.

" We started December with good news. Unemployment continues to fall. More than 868,000 people got a job."

Victory for the country

According to the President of the Republic, Brazil will end the year in the black, which is a great victory in the wake of the stark recession the country has faced in recent years. He also recalled that inflation and interest rates are dropping while consumption and output are growing, and that IBGE numbers have shown that unemployment is also on a downward trend.
