Visiting the Amazon Forest is finding the second longest river in the world, the Amazon River. It begins in southern Peru and crosses nearly the entire Northern region of Brazil before entering the Atlantic Ocean. In Manaus, you can make a tour that takes you to the meeting point of two of its tributaries: Rio Negro, with dark waters, and Rio Solimões, reddish water. The landscape is incredible: two distinct colorations that intersect to form the Amazon River.

Almost seven thousand km long and more than one thousand tributaries, it houses numerous species, some still not cataloged. It is estimated that more than 2.1 thousand species of fish live in the Amazon basin: just like piranhas, aruanãs, pirarucus and many others. Amazon also holds the widest collection of living plants and animal species on the planet, which makes it a green sanctuary to be preserved for the goodness of all mankind.

Throughout the year, tourists can take advantage of the lowland forest seasonality (where communities, mainly responsible for its conservation, live), which allows you to experience local nature in full season, when it gets flooded or drought. Trips are ecotourism options and include hiking through the forest, canoeing for aquatic trails, typical food tasting, contact with the local lifestyle of riverine communities and some indigenous tribes of the Amazon. One of the tours takes you through the Lake January Ecological Park, offering an unforgettable ride. The gateway to the forest is Manaus, capital of the State of Amazonas.
